Before we go into pages and pages
of hype, here are the bare facts: This
systems features our JPEG2000 8 Channel Digital Video Recorder with TWO
250gig Hard Drives (500gig total).
In live view images are displayed at real time on your TV / Monitor.
Images are recorded and played back at 240 frames per second.
User definable recording resolutions: 720x240 and 360x240.
This DVR uses the new JPEG2000 image compression.
Better recorded images then anything I have ever seen in a
surveillance system.
That's not sales hype, it's a fact. The
Texas (DPS) Department Of Public Safety uses this system.
The DVR can be set to record full time or to record only when motion
is present.
No motion detector necessary. That's old technology.
This system uses technology that basically analyzes the video stream
and looks for changes.
If changes are detected, it starts recording and it works very well.
The length of time that it will continue to record is user definable
from 1 to 100 seconds.
If motion is detected again before the 1 to 100 seconds is reached,
the timer is reset to and it starts counting again. You
can mask out areas in the cameras view that have a lot of useless
motion to save hard drive space.
For example:
You have a camera watching the front door of your business but cars
driving by set off the recording generating hours of useless video.
This is hard drive space that should be used for video you
want.
You could set the system not to trigger on the areas where the cars
go by. It will still trigger when people come to the door. It will
still record the masked out areas if someone comes to the door but
motion in the masked out area will not trigger recording. This is a
real time saver when playing back the video. Remote
access though your local area network or over in the Internet / WAN
(Wide Area Network). The DVR has a built in either net RJ45 jack on
the back of the unit. You plug it into your network like you would
any PC. The Remote Client Software is included with your purchase.
You can watch the cameras live or play back previously recorded
video through the remote client software. If there is an incident
you can record the video to your PC in .AVI format while your
playing it back using the remote client software. This is a really
handy way to give the Police a CD that will run on just about any PC
using Microsoft Windows Media Player. The
DVR has a built in CD burner for backing up video. The CD ROM drive
is also used for updating the Firmware / Software as new updates
become available. I have seen two software updates so far and this
is a really easy way to get the new Firmware in to the DVR. The
manufacturer is very good about incorporating new ideals into their
product so having a way of getting those new ideas into our your
system is a necessity. New firmware updates will be provided free of
charge upon request. You can check out support website for new
updates. Unlike
PC based DVR systems this Stand Alone DVR can not catch viruses. It
will not crash periodically for no reason. You can connect this DVR directly
to your internet connection with worrying about having a firewall.
We have been selling PC based systems for years and viruses have
always been a concern. Not with this system.
Free DDND (Dynamic Domain Name Service). If you have an IP address
that changes, most people do, when you disconnect from the Internet
for any reason be it a power failure, service or what ever, then you
will appreciate this free service.
Why?
Lets say you leave work for the day. Your at home and you want to
see what's going on at work. Just after you left the power went out
for a few minutes. By time you get home your IP address has changed.
You go to your computer and try to log into your DVR but it's not
responding because the IP address has changed. You need to know what
the IP address has changed to before you can connect to the DVR.
What do you do? Drive back to the office to see what the IP address
has changed to? No, you login to your FREE DDNS account to see what
the IP address has changed to. In
the last Firmware / Software update the manufacturer added a really
handy feature that lets the DVR report it's current IP address to a
website. It does this every time the DVR is powered up and it
also send the information every 20 to 30 minutes. You can adjust how
often it reports to the website.
Another reason this
is so very important is that most Internet Providers charge a
monthly fee if you want a fixed IP address. I have seen them charge
as much as $75.00 per month if they think they can get away with it
and they do. They know people need to know their IP address and they
know people are willing to pay for it. Call your provider and see
what they say. You will find that this DVR will pay for itself in
savings. Call them.. I have never seen another Stand Alone DVR with
this unique feature. That's how innovative this manufacturer is.

Something other sellers conveniently forget
to tell you!
Why?: IP addresses
are like phone numbers on the Internet. When anyone, including
you, connects to the Internet your Internet Service Provider
gives you an IP address. This IP address is what makes you different
then everyone else on the Internet.
Every time you reconnect to the internet your IP address can
and probably will be different then the last time you
connected. This is called a Dynamic
IP address. Dynamic means you get assigned what
ever IP address is available at the the time that you connect
or reconnect to the Internet.
If you need to know your IP address to connect to your DVR
which, you do with any DVR system, this can be a real big and
expensive problem for you.
Imagine if your telephone number changed every time you
hung up the phone. The next time someone tried to call you
they would get who ever was assigned your last phone number.
The same thing can happen when you try to call your DVR using
the IP address.
If you want your IP address to stay the same which, is known
as a Static IP address
then you can expect to pay a premium to your Internet provider.
Internet Providers know if you want this service they
can get away with charging you extra for it.
They take advantage of this fact.
I have seen the cost of a Static
IP address range from
$25.00 a month to $75.00 a month. I have never seen a Internet
Provider that offers a Static IP
address for free.
Our DVR system unlike any other
Stand Alone DVR that I know of has a built in feature that
gets around this monthly fee.
It's called Dynamic Domain Name Service
or DDNS for short.
This DVR has a feature built into it's software that
will report it's current IP address to a website we provide
every twenty minutes or so. You can adjust the intervals that
it sends the current IP address to the website.
You can login to this website anytime, from virtually anywhere
to see what the IP address has changed to.
How cool is that?

If you think about it, this feature alone over a period
of time will save you the cost of buying this unit.
Again, I don't know of any other Stand Alone DVR out there, on
eBay or anywhere else that has this feature.
What's even cooler is that once you login to this Website if

As if this feature wasn't enough to

The website has a built in Browser based Remote Client
Interface.
So you don't even need to install the Remote Client software

Wow! were we disappointed!
It's a 16 channel system that has 60 frames per
second. Not 240 frames like our system!
When a person walked across the cameras view it looked like
they were skipping along. The frame rate is that bad.
It's uses the old JPEG technology. The picture quality was
poor.
It will not accept a hard drive over 250 gig.
They are cheap but that's all they are! Cheap!
