We recently picked up a new line of DVR cards
that we would like to tell you about.
If your not interested in learning about this new system simply slide to the bottom of this page to finish paying for your auction.
Please keep in mind that the information about this new product is simply for your information. This information is about a new product. The Auction that you won has a 100% feedback rating and that's because it's an excellent product. The information provided here is just another option you have.
You are not obligated to take advantage of this offer in anyway..
Why you should consider these new DVR cards.
The main reason is that unlike the one from eBay (Left) and most other DVR cards you can't add more then one card in the computer. You have to scrap the 4 port card and get the 9 port card. With these new DVR cards (Right) each one has an ID chip letting you add up to four cards in one PC. So, you don't have to waist your original investment if you decide that you want to grow you're system later.
Also as shown below the new card has a video pass through port. This lets you pass one of the four video inputs to the video output port. You set which one gets passed through with the jumper shown at the bottom of the right picture. Unfortunately it doesn't pass through all four at one time. Now that would be cool.
Below you see the nine port version of the Four Port
card that you got on eBay. See how they attach the pigtails to add more
cameras. Notice that the picture above doesn't have the plugs on the
board. That's why you have to scrap it to go to the nine port system.
Anyway, doing it with pigtails just splits the one video chip by more
cameras and that's not good.
To add more cameras to this new system you
simply add another card.
The reason adding another card is a better way to go is
because your adding another video processing chip.
With the 9 port from eBay your dividing the one video chip by 9 cameras. That
means your frame rate is 30 divided by 9 which gives you 3.33 frames per second
per camera input.
If you use two of the new cards your frame rate will be (30 for the 1st card +
30 for the 2nd card) 60 frames per second divided by 8 cameras which gives your
7.5 frames per second per camera input. That's just about double the frame rate.
Why is frame rate so important? Well, lets say someone is walking across the
room in front of the camera. How many pictures will be captured as the person
crosses the room.
With a low frame rate the first picture will be the person entering the room.
The next picture they will be half way across the room. The 3rd picture they
will be leaving the room.
With a higher frame rate you will see them enter the room and just about every
step they take as they pass though the room. In other words you get more
pictures. More pictures is more information. More information is defiantly
better when it comes to video and trying to figure out what someone is doing in
the video. Higher frame rate is better.
Another advantage is your not limited to 4 or 9 cameras.
If you want to add more cameras later all you need to do is get another card. 2
cards gives you 8 cameras at 60 frames per second. 3
cards gives you 12 cameras at 90 frames per second. 4 cards gives you 16 camera
at 120 frames per second. You never lose the frame rate and you only buy what
you need as you need it.
With the old system if you wanted more cameras you had to get rid of the four
port or nine
port system and replace it with the 16 port system and even then you would be
still dividing that same 30 frames per second by 16 cameras giving you 1.8
frames per second.

Notification!
They really put their heads together when they designed the software for these
new DVR cards. You can have the software email you a picture of what triggered
the motion detection. You can also program it to call your cell phone or home and
play a prerecorded message. You record the message that it plays. You can make a
different recording for each camera so you know which camera was triggered.
Pretty neat!
If that wasn't enough!
Browser Based Remote Access!
With this new system you don't have to install software from a disk on
the computer that your going to use to access your cameras over the internet
with. It's browser based meaning you simply use Internet Explorer or Netscape to
access your cameras by typing in the IP address of your DVR computer.
With the old system you have to install
software from a disk. Set up the software and then you could access your
cameras.
The new systems have all the features listed in the four and nine port system auction
including the motion detection technology.
I could go on!
Well, there are more things about this new software but to many to
list here.
The entire layout of the user interface was designed to be easy to use and easy
to understand.
Installation is a snap and if you have any problem were here to help.
Anyway, these new cards do cost a little more but when you consider the few
advantages listed here it's well worth the difference.
